How the Civil War Affected Future Strategy in War
Strategy is very important in any battle fought. No matter if it is a one man brawl, or country wide warfare. Sending the right soldiers, in the right place, at the right time, can change the outcome of any battle. Decisive battles were fought every day in the Civil War.
The Civil War revolutionized the strategy of war by changing everything they once knew about war. Instead of fighting in civil uniform lines to be gunned down they charged in waves to keep more soldiers alive. Strategy greatly increased the chance of winning as long as their strategy wasn't discovered by the enemy. One of the most effective strategies used in the civil war was the "Napoleonic" tactics that advanced the previous system of soldiers fighting shoulder to shoulder. This advanced warfare by decreasing the casualties on the allied sides and increased casualties on the enemies side until they caught on.
